It is a registered Christian charity that works in and around the Piatra Neamt area, Northen Romania, and in partnership with the Christian Baptist Church of Piatra Neamt.<br /><br /> Despite the changes that have taken place in Romania since the revolution, both socially and economically, the government still struggles to provide basic health and homecare for the elderly. Education and care of special needs children is sadly also one of the lowest priorities, in a society where old fashioned prejudice still prevails.<br /><br /> As well as offering practical assistance to the elderly and disabled children through the two foundations 'HSB' and 'The Silvia Day Centre,' Haven in Romania and the Baptist Church are seeking to break down those prejudices in society by getting alongside these people so often forgotten and neglected. The two foundations set up and funded by Haven in Romania are a part of the church's work and witness into their community, and Haven in Romania employs and trains up Christian workers from the church to work in the foundations as carers, teachers and cooks.<br /><br /> As a charity, no charges are made to the elderly, or to the families of the children helped by Haven in Romania, and all wages and resources are paid for by donations and fundraising.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/7575421354561455568-1840339395190038727?l=havenabout.blogspot.com' alt='' /></div>nonenoreply@blogger.com0
